Plain Answers, No Runaround

Everything Homeowners Ask Us

Including the questions about money, insurance, and whether you even need us. If your question is not here, call and ask a person.

Working With TLG

Are you a franchise?

No. TLG Restoration is The Laureano Group, a family-owned West Palm Beach company. When you call, you reach people who work here, not a national call center that sells your job to whoever is available.

Do you charge for estimates?

No. Estimates are free, in writing, and itemized so you can see exactly what you are paying for. If something does not need doing, it will not be on the scope.

How fast can you get to me?

Our shop is on Westgate Avenue in West Palm Beach, minutes from I-95 and the Turnpike, and we answer the emergency line around the clock. Response time depends on where you are and what is happening, and we give you an honest arrival window on the phone rather than a slogan.

Do you do the rebuild too, or just the cleanup?

Both. TLG is a restoration company and a construction company under one roof. The same team that dries and remediates can rebuild, which means one scope, one schedule, and no handoff to a stranger halfway through your project.

Mold Remediation

How much does mold remediation cost in Florida?

Most Florida mold remediation projects run between $1,500 and $6,000, with typical projects landing around $3,000 to $4,500. In South Florida, larger jobs involving HVAC systems or multiple rooms can reach $3,000 to $10,000 or more. The honest answer for your home requires a moisture inspection, which is why we scope every job in person before quoting a number.

Does homeowners insurance cover mold remediation in Florida?

Usually only when the mold was caused by a sudden, covered event like a burst pipe or storm damage, and most Florida policies cap mold coverage around $10,000. Slow leaks and neglected humidity are typically excluded. We document everything with photos and moisture readings so your claim has the best possible footing, and we work with your adjuster rather than around them.

Can I remove mold myself?

Small surface spots under 10 square feet on non-porous material can be a DIY job. Anything larger legally requires a licensed mold remediator in Florida, and for good reason: disturbing a larger colony without containment spreads spores through the whole house and usually makes the problem more expensive.

Do I have to leave my home during mold remediation?

Often no. Proper containment and negative air pressure keep the work zone sealed from the rest of the house. For large jobs or residents with respiratory conditions we will tell you honestly if staying elsewhere is the safer call.

How long does mold remediation take?

A single-room job typically takes 1 to 3 days. Larger or multi-room projects run 3 to 7 days including drying time. We give you a written timeline before work starts and update you if anything changes it.

Water Damage Restoration

Is water damage covered by homeowners insurance in Florida?

Sudden and accidental water damage, like a burst pipe, is typically covered. Gradual damage from long-term leaks or lack of maintenance typically is not, and flood water from rising storm water requires separate flood insurance. Document everything immediately; it makes the difference.

How fast does mold grow after water damage?

Mold can begin growing on wet drywall, wood, and carpet within 24 to 48 hours in South Florida conditions. That window is why we treat every water loss as an emergency, even a small one.

Do you work with my insurance company?

Yes, and the right way. Florida banned assignment of benefits agreements for policies issued after January 1, 2023, so your claim stays yours. We supply the documentation, photos, and moisture logs your adjuster needs and communicate directly with them when you want us to.

Can wet drywall be saved?

Sometimes. If we reach it within the first day or two and it was clean water, aggressive drying can often save it. Contaminated water or drywall that stayed wet for days usually has to come out. Moisture readings make the call, and we show them to you.

Flood Damage Cleanup

Does homeowners insurance cover flood damage in Florida?

No. Rising water from outside the home is covered by flood insurance, a separate policy through NFIP or a private carrier. Homeowners insurance covers water that originates inside, like a burst pipe. We help you document the loss correctly for whichever policy applies.

Can flooring survive a flood?

Tile often survives with proper disinfection. Carpet and pad that took Category 3 water should be replaced. Wood and laminate depend on how long the water sat. We test rather than guess, and we show you the readings behind every keep-or-remove call.

How soon should flood cleanup start?

Within 24 hours if at all possible. Contaminated water gets worse the longer it sits, mold gets a head start, and materials that could have been saved become losses. Call us as soon as it is safe to do so.

Fire And Smoke Damage

Can smoke smell be completely removed?

Yes, but only by removing or sealing the residue that causes it, including inside HVAC systems. Air fresheners and ozone-only treatments that skip the cleaning step fail within weeks. Done properly, the odor does not come back.

Is fire damage covered by homeowners insurance?

Fire is one of the most reliably covered perils in a standard Florida homeowners policy, including smoke damage and the water damage from putting the fire out. Good documentation still determines how smoothly the claim goes, and we build that file for you.

Should I clean soot myself?

No. Household cleaners smear acidic soot deeper into surfaces and often set stains permanently. Leave surfaces alone, ventilate if it is safe, and let a certified crew handle residue with the right chemistry.

Biohazard Cleanup

Is sewage backup covered by insurance?

Many Florida policies cover sewage backup only if you carry a specific water backup endorsement, and limits are often low. Check your declarations page, and call us either way. We document thoroughly so whatever coverage exists gets used.

How discreet is your response?

As discreet as you need. Unmarked response is available on request, and we never discuss a job with neighbors or anyone else. Ever.

Is the area safe to use after cleanup?

Yes. We decontaminate to verifiable standards using hospital-grade, EPA-registered disinfectants and confirm the result before we call a job done.
